S.G. Wood

Originally from Detroit and now residing in Tampa, Florida, S.G.Wood is an award winning Singer-Songwriter who describes his music as "Hacksaw Americana".  Cutting through life's rough edges getting to the heart of the matter, he shares what he's learned along the way using his tools, old guitars, amps and a well seasoned voice.  His playing style is both aggressive and gentle, drawing inspiration from Classic Country, Rock and Folk to create a unique musical style that is both singable and memorable.

S.G. grew up in a house filled with  music. His Dad had a show on WJR radio for several years and brought records home of everything from Broadway Musicals to Be Bop Jazz with some Country and Folk music thrown in for good measure.  Pulling his moms old Harmony guitar  out from under her bed, he taught himself how to play listening to The Beatles, Neil Young and Bob Dylan to name a  few.  Songwriting was the  next step which he took, and that is the path he's been on ever since.

Honing his skills as a guitar picker and songwriter in the critically acclaimed Americana band The Hummingbirds, S.G.'s songs can be heard in several movies, and has opened shows for Paul Thorn, Sun Volt, Dave Alvin, Jim Lauderdale, Sunny Sweeny and The Kentucky Headhunters to name a few.

Whether playing intimate solo shows or rocking electric with his rough and tumble band GatorTooth, S.G. is excited for the release of his new album, "Dude Waters" due out this summer. Be on the lookout for it as well as tour dates in a town near you!

Kip Kelly

Kip Kelly is a local songwriter to the Tampa Bay Area, originally from the Midwest. Fans of Guy Clark and Hayes Carll will immediately identify with his approach to heartfelt and well-crafted music. Kip writes about what's real- and it shows in his songs.

Born just outside of Gary, IN, Kip moved to Florida in 2003.  He picked up a guitar in 2008 while mourning the loss of his mother.  Within a few months, he was attending local open mics performing songs by songwriting heavyweights John Prine and Townes Van Zandt, but it wasnโ€™t long before the urge to write his songs appeared. โ€œI was spending a lot of late night couch time just strumming, when one day I went to a local Sam Ash, and a guy showed me what I later learned was a Travis picking style, but at the time I just remember thinking โ€˜hey that sounds like a bunch of John Prine songs that I likeโ€. I must have spent the next 6 months just fingerpicking the same three chords until everyone in my house was sick of it.  Eventually, some words started popping in my head and then a bunch of songs came outโ€

The first of this batch, not surprising, was called โ€œMotherโ€™s Dayโ€. It was written on a Motherโ€™s Day morning following his mother Deniseโ€™s passing in 2008.  Kip thought enough of this initial work to enter it in a songwriting contest in โ€œAmerican Songwriter Magazineโ€ which earned him an honorable mention and a listing in the magazine.  Inspired by this initial endorsement of his writing, Kip continued his writing pursuit.  โ€œI tend to write songs about things I love, places I love and people I love.  I guess thatโ€™s because the memories of those things tend to be quite strong - which makes it easier to get their unique details into the song.  Those details, I think, are what make a song poignant and allow you to connect with the listenerโ€

In 2019, Kip entered and won a local songwriting contest judged by Austinโ€™s Sam Baker and Nashvilleโ€™s Rod Picott earning him a spot in the St.Petersburg Songwriters Festival alongside some of Texasโ€™s finest songwriters.  Kip has recently opened for Slaid Cleaves and Rod Picott and has begun working on recording his first record.

His influences include; Ben Folds, Weezer, Randy Newman, Mike Viola, The Beatles and more. He combines strong hooks with clever yet sometimes painfully honest lyrics. Brian has a desire to work with other artists and publishers on future writing projects.
